The most memorable picture we took the first day was the guy hauling the donkey in the back of a small Isuzu truck. Now get ready for this..... this picture was taken at a speed a 100 Km/h which equates to about 65 mph. Later in the trip (the next day) I wished I had this donkey....continue to read to find out why.

We were able to get a couple of aerial photos as we saw the Yucatan peninsula as we were just a few minutes from the airport.

It may seem wasteful for your first stop on a Mexican vacation to be a Walmart but we needed water and a few other bare essentials. I would suggest any tourist to stop and check out the Mexican Walmart as the products are interesting when compared to the Walmart products in the United States.

The pictures below were taken while driving in Cancun which a still snapshot can in no way give you the feel for the driving in Mexico. The interesting issue is that we didn't see an enormous amount of accidents. Maybe it is the visiting Gringo that is the problem???

We arrived at the Hotel La Tortuga later that afternoon and found the Hotel to be very quaint and laid back while in the heart of Playa Del Carmen and only two blocks from the beach.
