We started off Saturday morning early with intentions of walking the beach at Playa del Carmen to see the sunrise. Although we don't always get up early enough the beach walks with sunrises or sunsets are at the top of our list wherever we go.

After the sunrise infested walk along the beach and after a traditional Mayan breakfast we set off south to visit the beach the girls from Switzerland suggested which is named Caleta Tunkah.

We had planned to visit the ruins in Tulum later in the day which was a mile or two south  from Caleta Tunkah along the beach but Caleta Tunkah was so addictive that we spent most of our time there.

On the way from the highway to the beach as we drove through the jungle we saw an Iguana that was keeping an eyes on the things.

We took several pictures at Caleta Tunkah and noticed that in Mexico there is a more liberal approach to sun bathing.

After Caleta Tunkah we went to the beach adjacent to Tulum and found the beach to be less developed than any beach we encountered up to this point in time. We took a stroll down the beach and snapped a few photos.
